Your essential Taekwondo kit
To begin your Taekwondo journey at Watford Taekwondo, students will primarily need a Taekwondo uniform, known as a dobok, and a belt appropriate for their grade. For safety during sparring practice, essential protective equipment includes a headguard, chest protector (hogu), arm guards, shin guards, groin guard (for males), and mouthguard. Initially, new students are welcome to wear comfortable sportswear before purchasing their dobok.
Where to find your gear
Watford Taekwondo can provide doboks and most protective equipment directly to students, ensuring quality and correct sizing. We often have competitive prices for our students. Alternatively, there are several reputable online retailers that specialise in Taekwondo equipment. Please speak to one of our instructors for specific recommendations on brands or shops that meet our club’s standards for safety and durability.
